Dear Parishioners,
 
              On Tuesday, September 20, the Diocese filed with the bankruptcy court a proposed consensual plan of reorganization worked out with the assistance of the court appointed mediator.

              If the court approves the Plan, $15 million will be placed in a trust for the exclusive benefit of survivors of clergy sexual abuse.   Each parish and other entities of the Diocese have made a financial contribution from their insurance reserves in order to participate in the benefits of the outcome of the bankruptcy process.
              From the beginning it has been our commitment to provide for the survivors of sexual abuse in a fair, just and equitable manner from available resources and to allow the Diocese to carry on its essential ministries and services to the people in our Diocese.
We hope for a favorable court decision.  As we move forward, let us pray for one another and most especially for the survivors of sexual abuse. Thank you for your prayers, support and love for the Church.

Queridos feligreses,
 
              El martes 20 de septiembre, la diócesis presentó ante el Tribunal de Bancarrota  la proposición de un Plan Consensual de Reorganización elaborado con la asistencia de la Corte nombrada como mediadora.

Si el Tribunal aprueba el Plan, se colocarán  $ 15 millones en un fideicomiso para el beneficio exclusivo de los sobrevivientes de abuso sexual del clero.   Cada parroquia y otras entidades de la diócesis han hecho una contribución financiera de sus reservas de seguros para participar en los beneficios de los resultados del  proceso de bancarrota.
Desde el comienzo,  ha sido nuestro compromiso proveer a los sobrevivientes de abuso sexual en una forma justa y equitativa, dentro de los recursos disponibles y que permitan a la diócesis continuar proporcionando ministerios y servicios esenciales a las personas en nuestra diócesis.  
Esperamos una decisión judicial favorable. En la medida que avancemos, oremos unos por otros y de manera especial por los sobrevivientes de abuso sexual. Gracias por sus oraciones, apoyo y amor a la iglesia.
