As we are faced and confronted with the reality of the outrageous outcome of Proposition 1, I want to commend and thank all of you, clergy, religious and laity, who were committed to the effort of defeating Prop 1. I am grateful for your witnessanddedicationinupholdingthetruth about the sanctity and dignity of life. Your prayers, active in- volvement, sacrifice of time, and financial support have been greatly appreciated.
In the midst of the darkness that enshrouds us, and our state of California, let us be mindful, as the Advent Season approaches, to continue to be a people of hope and disciples of life! May God’s mercy be upon us, the State and our nation as we pray for the grace of repentance and conversion of mind and heart.
In a spirit of hope of the Advent Season, let us take to heart the words of the Prophet Isaiah:“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; upon those who dwelt in the land of gloom a light has shone.”
Let us keep up the good fight! Let us focus on the Great Light! In the Peace of Christ, the Author, and Lord of Life-the Light.
