Prayer to Worship God Anew
3Send forth your light and your truth;
they will serve as my guide.
Let them bring me to your holy mountain,
to the place of your dwelling,
4Then I will go to the altar of God,
to God, my joy, my delight.
and I will praise you with the harp,
O God, my God.
Psalm 43:3-4
This Christmas may be a little different due to the chaos in our lives. It is during times of crisis and isolation that we need to nourish our minds and our hearts with the Word of God and nourish our bodies and souls with the Holy Eucharist in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Although we cannot gather as a community in Our Parish—Your Parish, what remains the same in our hearts and souls is the beautiful gift of our Catholic Faith we share that brings us together on the Birthday of the King, Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Composed by St. Alphonsus Liguori in the 18th century, this prayer for Spiritual Communion is especially applicable to livestream or online Masses (from Our Catholic Prayers).
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

It is through every ones' prayers and generous gifts that our Parish and Missions are kept alive to do God’s work in bringing together our community as one family from near and far away places. In keeping Fr. Andy’s memory alive, “’Mammoth Lakes is truly God’s Country, which keeps calling us back.” Again, thank you for your continued generosity in helping us during this pandemic and especially for all the prayers. May God’s blessings be numerous for you and your loved ones during this new year 2021.
Online Giving is the most convenient way to donate to St. Joseph Parish. You can make a single donation or set up a recurring donation to the weekly offertories, second collections, and special projects. Click on the button above or go to the Online Giving Page for more information.
